The Alpha-Alpha chapter of Chi Phi was founded at the University of North Carolina in 1858, establishing the Southern Order of the Chi Phi fraternity. Chi Phi currently boasts 55 active brothers, with many other inactive brothers on study abroad programs. The Alpha-Alpha chapter maintains a strong philanthropic presence on campus, and is known for its annual Crawfish Boil in support of the Susan B. Lambeth Ovarian Cancer Fund, the Richmond Children’s Hospital, and UNC’s Dance Marathon. The “White House on the Hill” has a strong social tradition, and hosts annual events like the Beach Party that its members and their friends look forward to every year. Chi Phi also puts a strong emphasis on academics, and regularly places in the top five for cumulative GPAs in the Interfraternity Council.
